Meet Caramel!

I have to backtrack a bit to explain this one. I have a girlfriend who lives in Florida who rescues abandoned, injured and physically challenged bunnies. I did a great blog post on her recently about her bunny paradise on her beautiful shady property. https://kittybunnychicken.com/2015/04/29/mary-mary-not-contrary/

She has many rescued bunnies and she tries to “pair bond” all of them. This means that she puts lady and gentleman bunnies (both or at least one is neutered/spayed) together in their own little habitat in her outdoor bun village. It is an expensive and time-consuming project and one that she puts her heart, soul and discretionary funds into.

I help her out by taking an abandoned bun from our shelter (they call me when they have bunnies) and I get them spayed at Goodwin Animal hospital (Thank you Dr. Glasscock!) and then bring them home to recover. When they have recovered from surgery, Mary and I make a plan to meet halfway (Enterprise, AL) and I deliver a new lady friend for her bachelor bunny.

Before surgery, Caramel enjoyed some outdoor time in Buster’s playpen.

I had to keep them separated, but the showed more than a casual interest in each other.

Caramel got her surgery on Monday and she’s feeling better. I’ll take her to Mary today where she’ll recover fully indoors before she’s introduced to Bugs. Of course Mary will send pictures of the blind date and I’ll share them here.

In kitten news, Scrappy is driving everyone crazy in our house! She is INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE! This is the sweetest, most mischievous kitten ever! She’s driving Buster to drink! All she wants to do is hug him and play with him and he keeps trying to tell her that he is an old man! She chases Mulder and torments Rowdy and Sammy and we love watching every minute of it.
