Rowdy has discovered TV. This girl is four years old and she’s never given a hoot about TV in her life. None of the cats I’ve ever owned have EVER cared about it and I’ve only seen one cat who did.
Roxy lives in Springfield, Virginia with my Uncle Sonny & Aunt Carol. She is a pampered, plump rescue cat who rules the roost at their house! Her “parents” have several DVDs that Roxy likes to watch involving squirrels, hamsters, all kinds of birds, butterflies and even FISH! I’ve watched her glued to the set many times and it is hilarious to see her bat at the screen and try to look around behind it for critters.
Then one night this week we were watching a DUCKumentary in our living room. (No, it had nothing to do with those guys with beards!) Rowdy heard some quacking and pranced in to see where the noise was coming from. She turned toward the TV and stared at it as though she were under a spell.
She watched the whole show and then we turned off the telly and went to bed. The next night we were watching a Netflix documentary on birdwatchers in Central Park, (We are really exciting people) and once again, she dashed into the room to see what was on the menu. I thought she might enjoy getting closer so I pushed the ottoman under her ample butt and there she remained for the full hour.
Now she watches anything that’s on. Today I walked into the living room to see her deeply involved in SpongeBob Squarepants. (I don’t know how it got on that channel, honest!)
She told Buster all about the new exciting thing in the house and he’s getting some weird ideas of his own.
I’ll see Buster Man. 🙂
Love that she’s got favorite shows, too, now. 😉 That Orange Breasted Fluffernutter looks tasty!
Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet is the running favorite.
Rowdy and Roxy are just very smart cats….notice the programs they select. OK, maybe they are using it as the kitty food channel.
Roxy and Rowdy do NOT need anymore kitty food! 🙂
Thanks for the morning smile. I need a post daily! Love the names you come up with – hilarious!
Debbie, I did not make these names up you cave dweller! Google “Cotton-Headed Ninny Muggins” and be amazed. Also, a fluffernutter is a FABULOUS sandwich made out of peanut butter and marshmallow FLUFF! You need to get out more girlfriend! 🙂
