Back to Normal?

Well, we’re down to three cats, one kitten and a bunny.  Maybe for you this is not normal but for the Burlingames, it’s downright boring!  Boring will be nice for a while.  A lot has happened since I started kittybunnychicken on February 2nd, 2012.

Here are the facts in a nutshell…

Got a foster bunny from the shelter.  Named her Bitsy.

First Date

Got an orphaned chicken from my dad to raise to coop age.  Named her Scarlett.

Scarlet and Bitsy become good friends.

Bitsy dies during her spay surgery.

Scarlett makes new friends.

How long is this chick staying?

Picked up Miss Lori and her seven kittens plus one (Mulder) from the Montgomery Shelter.

Took Miss Scarlett to Debbie’s farm to live with her many beautiful chickens.

Got my chickens, Rosie, Daisy & Violet back from Hampstead for a brief time while I arranged relocation to my friend Debbie’s farm.

Took the girls to live with Debbie.

All the really cool chicks are named Debbie.

Sweet Bootsie died at the age of 17. 😦

Picked up two more foster kittens at week eight (Otto & Olivia).

Took Mulder back for his surgery and adopted him.

Returned last two foster kittens.

We had fun.

Whew!  I’m tired.  And my house is very “fluffy”.  I’m going to take a break from any new animal adventures for a while and focus on the six furry family members in my house (Jim included).  Unless Buster learns the Tango or Mulder starts speaking Spanish, the kittybunnychicken will be quiet for a while.  I promise to update you occasionally on Mulder’s growth and personality.  I have a feeling he’ll be the life of the party around the Burlingame farm for a while.  Thank you for reading my little blog.  I love doing it and I hope I’ll have something interesting to say every now and then.  Who knows…I’ve always wanted a pygmy goat.  Wonder what the homeowners rules say about that. 🙂

Miss Olivia. I’ll miss you my little beauty queen. 🙂

  1. What happened with Rosie, Daisy, Violet at Hampstead? I thought I was keeping up on all the news til I read your review that you had relocated them.

  2. Good story! I have not located the florist who arranges for the tree to be planted in the forest for Boots. I suspect that the address is in my address book in Starkville — I am still in the Delta. I have not forgotten. Good picture of Boots! ( and all the others, too) 🙂

    • Marcie, that is so sweet of you about the tree, but you can simplify your life if you wish to do something to commemorate Boots. I suggest you just make a donation to your local animal shelter. I think that would make Boots very happy. 🙂 Love you, girl.

  3. Loved the recap of your posts. It was great!!! Don’t quit for too long. I really enjoy your writings and your pictures are the best!

  4. Your year in review was like looking back thru a photo album….being nostalgic, a little sad but mostly feeling warm and happy. thanks.
